Compliance
Not a legal template. This is the premise the product is built on, written down so you have something to compare other vendors against.
We do this
- Lower the effort for a genuine customer to write
- Turn ticked boxes into one readable paragraph
- Offer bilingual drafts the customer can rewrite
- Send them to the correct Google page in one tap
- Keep negative options available so problems can be said
- Teach merchants how to answer criticism in public
We refuse this
- Removing entries or filing removal appeals
- Buying, inventing or trading anything
- Writing for a customer or posting as a customer
- Impersonating anyone or using invented accounts
- Screening customers or blocking unhappy ones
- Trading discounts, gifts or prize draws for stars
Why the removal route does not work
Google only takes down content that breaks its policies: spam, personal attacks, content unrelated to an actual visit, or a clear conflict of interest. A politely worded one-star entry from a real customer will survive any number of appeals. That is not a matter of technique — it is what the rules say.
Vendors who promise guaranteed removal are usually firing off bulk appeals and hoping, or doing something considerably riskier. If the latter gets flagged, it is your page that suffers, not theirs.
The two solutions that do work
First, dilute by volume. One one-star entry pulls the average down about 0.2 points when you have twenty in total, and about 0.02 points when you have two hundred. That is precisely why steadily collecting genuine praise beats obsessing over a single entry.
Second, answer it for the next person. You cannot delete it, but the reply underneath belongs to you. A calm, specific reply that names a fix often persuades a hesitating customer better than ten glowing entries would. We give you a template in this guide.
About trading gifts for stars
This is the most common shortcut among local businesses and the most dangerous one. Google policy explicitly forbids exchanging money, discounts, free items or prize entries for feedback. When it is detected, entries get wiped at best and the whole business page can be suspended at worst.
Review Helper offers nothing that supports this, and we recommend you never do it. Thank a customer by all means — just do not turn the thanks into a transaction.
How merchants must use it
- Only give the code to people who genuinely visited and were served
- Never scan, tick or post for them, and never take their phone
- Never hand the code only to customers who look pleased — that is screening
- Never offer anything in exchange
- Medical and legal practices: keep the conversation to service experience, never a case or a diagnosis
If what you want is for a particular entry to disappear, we cannot help and would not want to. That has not changed since day one of the product.
Fine with these lines? Then you are ready.
Compliance is not a restriction. It is what lets you still be using the same Google page in three years.
