Where to put it so it actually gets scanned

  • A stand on the counter. The thirty seconds after paying is when a customer is most willing to help. After that they are out the door.
  • Receipts and packaging. Print it at the bottom of the receipt and they can still scan it once they get home.
  • Table tents. Best in restaurants, cafes and nail salons — the few minutes spent waiting are exactly when people have nothing to do.
  • Do not put it only on the front door. People walking in have not bought anything yet; people walking out are already leaving. Neither moment works.

Which of the two codes to use

For anything printed, use the business page code. A phone scan usually opens in the Google app, where the customer is already signed in, and a far higher share of reviews actually get posted. The direct-to-review-box code saves a step and suits a web page or a text message, but it can fail in a browser that is not signed in. If you want a plain text link rather than an image, use the Google review link generator.

Three reasons a code will not scan

  • Printed too small. At least 3 cm square on a table tent; at least 8 cm if it is on a wall and people scan it standing up.
  • No quiet zone. A QR code needs blank space all around it. Butt it up against text or a border and many phones will not read it.
  • Printed over a pattern or under glossy lamination. Keep the background plain and use a matte finish.

How big to print it is the QR code size calculator; where to put it so people actually scan it is Where to put your review QR code so people actually scan it. And once it is up, somebody still has to ask — the words are in How to ask customers for Google Reviews.

You have the QR code. What if the customer still will not write?

A QR code solves the question of where to write the review. What actually stops the customer is the step after that.

In practice, ten happy customers, and often not one of them writes a review — not because they do not want to, but because it is a hassle, and typing it out is worse. Review Helper cuts that step to thirty seconds: the customer scans your code, ticks a few things they actually experienced, and the page turns it into a sentence in their own words. Copy, paste, posted. We do not ghost-write and we do not post for anyone — what they write, and whether to post it, stays their call. Three free reviews for every Google listing, nothing to pay up front, no card needed. No monthly fee: you pay per use.
