Business name compliance check

“XX Shop - Best Noodles in Town” is one of the common triggers for a suspended profile. Once reported the name is forced back, and repeat cases affect the whole profile.

How to use it

Paste the exact text currently in the Name field of your Business Profile — spaces, hyphens, brackets and all, unchanged. Then answer one question: does that text match the sign above your door word for word? The name never leaves your browser.

There is only one standard: whatever is printed on your sign goes in the name field. Not "close enough" — word for word. That is exactly what Google compares when it verifies a profile: if the words on the photo of your frontage do not match the name, the review does not pass.

What it flags

  • A separator followed by a description, e.g. "Miller's Diner - Best burgers in town"
  • Promotional words such as "authentic", "number one", "cheapest"
  • Phone numbers and web addresses — both have fields of their own
  • Services stacked after the name, e.g. "XX Beauty Massage Nails Brows"
  • A city or branch suffix that is not on the sign

This is a text-level check only. It cannot compare your name against your actual sign, and Google's own judgement is final.

After it flags something

Change it back, and change it properly the first time. Keyword stuffing does not lift your ranking — Google stopped ordering local results by literal name matches long ago, so stuffing buys risk and nothing else. The person who reports you is usually a competitor: they know the rule best and have the most reason to use it.

Why this field matters so much, and how the category field works alongside it, is in Business name and category: get these two wrong and the rest is wasted. If you are already suspended, first tell a soft suspension from a hard one — the handling is completely different: Google Business Profile suspended? What to do, or go straight to the Suspension appeal helper.

Change one field at a time. Name, address and category changed together in a short window is one of the most common suspension triggers there is.

Name fixed — now what actually lifts you

A compliant name only stops you losing points; it does not push you up. What pushes you up is your review count and your rating.

In practice, ten happy customers, and often not one of them writes a review — not because they do not want to, but because it is a hassle, and typing it out is worse. Review Helper cuts that step to thirty seconds: the customer scans your code, ticks a few things they actually experienced, and the page turns it into a sentence in their own words. Copy, paste, posted. We do not ghost-write and we do not post for anyone — what they write, and whether to post it, stays their call. Three free reviews for every Google listing, nothing to pay up front, no card needed. No monthly fee: you pay per use.
