Business Profile completeness checklist

How to use it

Keep your Business Profile dashboard open in another tab and tick as you go. If you are not sure, count it as not done — "I think I filled that in" and "it is filled in correctly" are different things to Google. Your answers stay in your browser and are never uploaded.

The fourteen items are not equal. The percentage is only a rough signal; the useful part is the "not done yet" list underneath, which is ordered by how much each item costs you. Work down it.

Where to start

If you only have time for three: get the primary category right, fill in complete opening hours including holidays, and upload photos from the last three months. The first two decide whether you appear and whether people come; the third decides whether the people who see you click.

Replying to reviews is the item most people skip, yet it is the only one on the list that keeps sending "this place is still trading" signals over time. For what to write, the Review response generator will draft it.

After the checklist

This is a self-assessment and rests on your own judgement. To see what Google actually shows, paste your Maps link into the Business Profile audit, which queries the public data once.

If items you know you completed are now empty, read Who can edit your Google listing, and why the details change on their own. Once the profile is complete, ranking is the next job: How to climb in Google Maps, step by step.

The hardest of the fourteen to tick

Thirteen of them you can tick by filling something in. Only "a steady flow of new reviews" is not yours to tick — that one is up to your customers.

In practice, ten happy customers, and often not one of them writes a review — not because they do not want to, but because it is a hassle, and typing it out is worse. Review Helper cuts that step to thirty seconds: the customer scans your code, ticks a few things they actually experienced, and the page turns it into a sentence in their own words. Copy, paste, posted. We do not ghost-write and we do not post for anyone — what they write, and whether to post it, stays their call. Three free reviews for every Google listing, nothing to pay up front, no card needed. No monthly fee: you pay per use.
